The Curious Savage is a heartwarming comedy by John Patrick that explores the themes of kindness, greed, and what it truly means to be “sane.” The story follows Mrs. Ethel P. Savage, a widow who has inherited her late husband’s vast fortune. Much to the dismay of her stepchildren, she intends to use the money to fund acts of kindness and unconventional causes.
Fearing the loss of their inheritance, the selfish stepchildren commit Mrs. Savage to a mental institution, hoping to convince her to abandon her eccentric plans. Inside the institution, Mrs. Savage meets a delightful group of residents, each with their quirks and struggles. As she connects with them, Mrs. Savage learns that sanity is subjective and kindness may sometimes seem mad to the outside world.
This charming play offers witty humor, poignant moments, and a touching message about the power of love and acceptance.
The Curious Savage performs February 7, 8, 14, 15 at Lee Williams High School on Grandview. Performances are at 7pm with matinees at 1pm on the Saturdays.
Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella (Enchanted Version) is a magical musical adaptation of the beloved fairy tale, blending romance, humor, and timeless songs. This version stays true to the story of Cinderella, an orphaned young woman living under the cruel authority of her wicked stepmother and selfish stepsisters. Despite her hardships, Cinderella remains kind and hopeful, dreaming of a better life beyond her chores and rags.
With the help of her whimsical Fairy Godmother, Cinderella is magically transformed for one enchanted night to attend the royal ball, where she captures the heart of the charming Prince. However, the magic only lasts until midnight, and Cinderella must leave the ball before her true identity is revealed.
Featuring classic songs like "In My Own Little Corner," "Ten Minutes Ago," and "Impossible/It's Possible," this enchanting musical reminds audiences that dreams can come true through courage, kindness, and a little magic.
